BEAUTY ALL AROUND

Hey, beautiful people!  Happy new month to you all :)

Do you ever wonder why almost every day there's some bad news from some part of the world? I do. Some days I am completely overwhelmed by the ugly happenings going on in the world. It gets me in my feelings and I am pulled back into my invisible shell and just want to stay there forever. I wonder when did humanity become so wicked, when did human on human crimes become the norm. Numerous natural disasters are bound to occur at some point in some place but these days almost every bad event is caused by humans to other humans and it's heartbreaking. These thoughts make me wonder if world peace is all an illusion but then I remember the beauty the world has to offer. Almost everywhere you look, there's beauty all around you. From smiles on a baby's face to kindness from a random stranger to all the forms of nature around us and these little things give me a ray of hope again which I am grateful for.

I started taking pictures of nature around me and beautiful places to remind me there's still a lot of infinite beauty in the world. Hoping someday it'll be more than enough for us all. Every picture I ever took with my iPhone brings a smile on to my face in and this is me hoping it'll do the same to yours. I'm still an amateur photographer (I'll entertain constructive criticism) but I do hope to get better at some point. Here are some of my favorite shots below :)

ACNE WAR : A review on my all time favorite clay mask

Hey, everyone, I promised I'd be more consistent on here in my last post and here I am again :) A link to the last post in case you missed it.

In this blog post, I'd be talking about my struggles with acne, blackheads, whiteheads, and everything that comes with that and how I eventually got rid of them. If you're a female who has gone through puberty, you would know what these are as you'll probably have had some kind of war with them at one point of your life or the other. I like to refer to the constant treatment as the ACNE WAR.

THE WAR

My acne war started when I moved to a different climate region. I was always the type of girl with a smooth face, occasional pimples around that time of the month but never anything serious. Never left my face with spots. Little did I know I had my own time coming haha. Took me a while to adjust to a different weather climate, actually my whole body. Hormones did whatever they liked and I ended up looking like this after a long while. Spots everywhere and I woke up almost every day with a new blackhead it was getting frustrating.

On my last visit to the doctor, I mentioned it, and was advised to increase my daily intake of water which I had promised to do in my "turning 25" blog post. Here's a link to that if you missed it. In case you're wondering what water has to with acne, water is a very important class of food that should be taken every day (she, the doctor told me 8 glasses of water is recommended daily). Keeping the body hydrated regularly is not necessarily a cure for acne but it does help with flushing out the constant build up of toxins in the body which if isn't flushed out can increase the acne build up.

BLOG BREAK & NEW BEGINNINGS

Hello everyone :) Salam Alaykum (Peace be unto you). It's the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar, the month of Ramadan and Alhamdullilah (Thank God) for being one of the lucky ones to witness this holy month again. How's it going for us all? Great I hope.

I promise to be more frequent on here seeing I've had the blog for a span of five years and not necessarily active (bad I know) but yes, I still didn't keep up. Recently I had the waves of life hit me down completely but you know what they say, Joy comes in the morning. Life certainly has ups and downs and I didn't get the downs alone. I got my ups TOO! Anyway, this isn't a rant post. I'll call my hiatus a much-needed break. During my time away, I did some soul searching and here are a few things I re-learned about life;

  • Starting with life is a bed of roses which sometimes has thorns and can get uncomfortable.
  • Nobody owes you anything, you owe yourself all the happiness you can get.
  • It is okay to fall down, what matters is how and when you pick yourself back up.
  • Mistakes are meant to teach not tear you down.
  • Trust your instincts (well I trust mine).
  • Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
  • Be kind to people even those who don't deserve your kindness.
  • Sometimes it pays to remain quiet, listen more, notice more.
  • Worrying fixes nothing.
  • Forgiveness sets you free.
  • It's okay to have emotions but don't let them drain you completely.

Promise I'm not a life coach or anything, wink. And oh, as a believer in new beginnings, I got mine recently. Got married and settled down with my best friend. Taking this step after a long time was a dream come true. So here's to new beginnings *insert fireworks & confetti*.

So the adventure begins with balancing my new home, work, and life. Here's hoping it's everything I've always dreamed it to be :) As Ramadan draws to an end, it's been beautiful with my new family and from mine to yours, here's wishing you all a Wonderful Eid Celebration in advance. May all our acts of worship be accepted. Ameen

Love, M.
